There are many who are unaware of the New Age Movement and do not know how to even detect the signs of this spreading belief system. Yes…belief system. This is truly dangerous because ALL people are being directly affected today.
What are some of the beliefs of New Age philosophy.
1. God is All. God is in All. We are therefore God-like.
2. We can achieve transformation of self to a higher enlightenment.
3. If we unite and share the same belief system there can be peace in this world.
4. We are not accountable to anyone but ourselves.
5. There is no such thing as sin. Therefore we are not in need of forgiveness.
6. Being spiritual is based in mysticism and its techniques.
7. All religions lead to God.
8. Your spiritual life is based on feelings and emotions.
9. There is a higher knowledge available to the spiritual elite.
10. Humans can attain perfection and are divine.
11. Evil is a misperception of reality.
12. All judgments and values are relative… not truth.
13. Change is always good.
14. Jesus was a good man and prophet but not the Son of God.
This list is not exhaustive by any means and there are many facets to each belief. But you may be thinking, Hey….none of these things have affected me or family and friends. Well….Let’s see.
Have you joined a “green” movement to save the earth?
Do you know anyone who participates in Yoga, acupunture, or therapeutic massage?
Have you or a friend ever purchased a crystal to wear or dangle from your rearview mirror, or a message rock to keep in your pocket?
Do you read your horoscope or put any stock in your “sign”?
Ever used a Ouija board?
Joke about having the “Force” in Star Wars?
Ever seen anyone use a divining rod?
How about the pendulum over a pregnant women’s stomach at a baby shower to see if it is girl or a boy?
Tarot Cards?
Have you ever been asked to do any practice with meditation or visualizaion at a seminar at work?
Do you know anyone who has tried one of the spells performed by Harry Potter in his books or movies?
Ever had your palm read?…Fortune read by a Medium?
Have you studied Feng Shui in a room setting for universal life energy?
Have you ever spelled out the word “witch” with your muffin crumbs? (just kidding)
Let’s see…what else….tea leaf reading, numerology, ESP, psychic powers, spirit guides, scrying, ball gazing, auras, astrology, omen interpretation, runes, astral travel… yep,..all occult.
It is my belief that the church is responsible for preparing Christians for the end time deceptions. All faiths will be accepted into the New Age One World Religion except Christianity. Why? Because of Jesus and who He really is, the Son of God, the only way to the Father. So what are the differences between the New Age and Christianity?
***************
The New Age teaches that enlightenment is the way to salvation.
Christianity teaches that grace and faith in Jesus Christ is our salvation.
***************
The New Age teaches that there are many ways to God.
Christianity teaches that there is only one way, through Jesus Christ.
***************
The New Age teaches that you are reincarnated till you get it right.
Christianity teaches that man dies once and then will be judged.
***************
The New Age teaches that Jesus was a good man, a prophet.
Christianity teaches that Jesus is the Son of God.
****************
The New Age teaches that the second coming is happening within all who are enlightened.
Christianity teaches that Jesus will physically come to earth again in judgment.
**************
The New Age teaches that the Bible is wrong and needs to be corrected.
Christianity teaches that the Word is inerrant and that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
**************
The New Age teaches that sin doesn’t exist.
Christianity teaches that if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves.
**************
The New Age teaches a new way to pray with chanting and eastern meditation.
Christianity teaches we are to use a prayer like the Lord’s prayer, as Jesus taught us, and not use vain repetitions.
**************
The New Age teaches that pleasures are here to be taken and this is our purpose.
Christianity teaches that our purpose is to give God glory.
**************
To those around you who may be involved in the New Age/Emergent church: Pray for them, study the Word so you can present the truth, be kind..loving and patient.. and tell them what the Lord has done in your life. Be a godly example and walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Ask Him to fill you with the Holy Spirit who will give you the words you need to say. If you stumble it is okay….just remember,
Isaiah 55:11. ” So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and acheive the purpose for which i sent it.”

I heard a testamony not too long ago that a very big “revival, signs and wonders” church in Northern California practiced the bolded word in your quote above from the pulpit and it was being directed by one of the “Prophetic movements” “proph-fits” of our day.
The more I learn and the research the more I find that New Age Mysticism beliefs have indeed infiltrated or Christain belief system.

Wow, astral travel practiced in the church….this is quite frightening. To achieve astral travel one has to be deep in meditation. Not the deep thinking meditation but the eastern TM emptying the mind first type of meditation.
I would like to know more about that church. The prophetic movement advocates or should i say uses deep meditative states to receive their “messages”. They think these messages are from God, but they are NOT…NOT…NOT
Keep on researching…

Great list, Kim. I know it’s not exhaustive, but that’s a good overview.

hello,
I have a Christian friend that have his spiritual eye opened (unintentionally, he said) . He told me some of his weird experiences seeing demons…i then replied that it’s not good for a Christian to have those stuffs in their life. He began to get furious, when I shared along that it could bring mess, curse etc. to his life…He then added that it’s not just demons that he saw but also good things like talking with God in heaven, seeing lights, angels coming up and down through a ladder (joseph’s dream)….he insisted that this is a spiritual gift, which i think is not…he quoted some of the passages (bible) included above(your article)….
I just want to ask your opinion about this:
My opinion and his….
Pls reply i need some things to clear up my mind..at least…
thank you and God bless..

How easily are spiritual “things” passed from person to person? If you go to a massage therapist who is giving you a deep muscle massage and they are doing nothing more than that to you, but they also have reiki in their repertoire can that cause a potential problem? In my line of work I touch people all day long. Can I “catch” something demonic from someone that I am touching? Please if the answer is yes, back it up scripturally.
Thank you

Have you ever seen Benny Hinn slay people in the spirit? They fall from the power of a spirit. They fall when he waves his hand or if he touches them. Now i believe this spirit to be demonic. When you read about the Toronto Blessing, this spirit was easily passed from one person to another.
I once went to message therapist who tried a Reiki treatment on me without my knowledge. She received a shock from me and said Wow…she wasn’t going to try that again. The Lord was protecting me. I didn’t know it at the time but i feel i went through that experiece so that i could warn others.
If you have read my Reiki article then you know that those who practice Reiki call upon a spirit to enter through the back of their head and ask it to flow through them into the patient.
I do not know if all those who are licensed in this practice actually understand the power that they are trying to invoke.
If you someone wants to “anoint” you, or tries to slay you in the spirit, i would run from them. If people are falling from the procedure and go down unconscience, shaking, jerking, you will know that the spirit is unholy. That is my belief anyway.
Many have acquired an unholy spirit by divination. This is delving into the spirit world by using metaphysics. Eastern meditation is the most common way to reach the pathway into another dimension.
Deut 18:9-12 is pretty clear that He forbids us to use divination.
Can you “catch” something demonic from someone who touches you? No, i don’t think so. But one has to be careful that they are not a willing participant or that they open themselves up to deception. I have seen those at false revivals who “do not fall”. They are called HTR’s, by the anointer. (Hard to Receive) But i believe they have been protected by the Blood of Christ.

Arjay… It would be interesting to know how your friend opened himself up.
In Ray Yungen’s book, For Many shall Come in my Name, he states that meditation is the doorway between worlds…the pathway between dimensions.
If he experienced the visions while in this state, then the experience would be suspect.
The other factor is the light. False spiritual awakening almost always involves the seeing of bright light. Kundalini Yoga is a prime example. When one reaches enlightenment from the mediation, there is an explosion of light.
Satan is a master deceiver, and comes as a bright light. He also knows scripture and will use it against the Christian, so just because there is Christian terminology in a practice, (Christian Yoga does not exist) or in a vision it may not be from the Lord.
The bible says we are to test the spirits. So we have to test all things against the Word of God.
go to http://www.lighthousetrails.com for research and they have great books. I have most all of them.

I have also found that eastern medicine doesn’t work on me. When I was in school I had acupuncture and it did absolutely nothing. I do believe there is a protection. So, you belive that even though a person isn’t specifically using reiki because they have been asked to do deep muscle massage that they may use that spirit anyway? I am also one of those HTRs. I was a Marilyn Hickey thing once and they were punching me in the stomach trying to get me to fall. Pretty rude of them if you ask me. It is hard to find a massage therapist who is not involved in any occult. The county I l ive in has 40 some and they are all weird. My poor body needs the musce work. How do you get rid of the spirit if you have been exposed?
October 2, 2007 at 1:30 am
Kim
It might be possible that a massage therapist trained in Reiki may try to use this on someone. If they are reputable, you would think they would ask first. I saw the Reiki certificate on the therapists wall but i didn’t know what it meant, and i didn’t ask. Many chiropractors have massage therapists and i would just call around and see which ones hold true to basic therapies without any spiritual implications. Some chiropractors though hold to a spiritual healing instead of just a physical healing so one has to be careful. Therapeutic Touch massage is also one to stay away from from.
How do you get rid of an unholy spirit? If this has occured then i would pray that it be removed by the Holy Spirit and repent if you desired it for its seductive power. One may need help from the clergy on this issue, but from the books i have read of those coming out of emergent practices, repentance and prayer seemed rid the person of oppression. I do not believe that believers can be possessed by a demon but can be oppressed.
A simple prayer may go like this. “In the name of Jesus Christ i forbid your presence and i repent of any unwise practices i may have allowed in my life. I claim the protection of the Blood of Jesus Christ. Amen”

I can tell you all about the chiropractic stuff, that is what I do. There are at least 5 chiros in my area who do what I refer to as voodoo chiropractic. I was told the other day you better watch out who you refer to as voodoo chiropractors around here.
I am sorry, but if someone asks me my opinion they are going to get it. These chiros play around with energy. There are two that use a technique called Network chiropractic which is very dangerous. The Network chiros have people fooled because they tell people they are CHristian and the Christians believe them. If they are Christians they have absolutely no discernment at all. Although I have to say that it is rare to find Christians with any discernment these days. I am constantly preaching against yoga, and the eastern stuff and people do not get it. My practice suffers as a result of my preaching and my refusal to use any technique that is even close to being questionable, but who cares. The Lord takes care of us. Even some supplements shouldn’t be used because of the energy connections. Young Living aromatherapy is a company that some how mixes the aromatherapy and energy. It seems that in alternative medicine there is very little that is not inflitrated by the occult, just like the church. Where can I find your reiki article? Another question. Crystals, do people who use them have to activate them in some manner or do they belive they just have power on their own? The area where we live is very oppressed. In our county there are 13 prisons- state and federal and people blame the “bad vibes” on that. Since we moved here 7years ago there has been an unbelievable influx of new age and gay everything. Plus this town used to be a KKK center years ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t still some of that activity going on. I have no clue why we live here besides the fact that starting up a new practice kind of makes me ill. May be this is the way it is everywhere, I don’t know. All I can say is Lord Jesus please get us out of here! thanks

Wow, you have related some powerful new information here. I was not aware of Network Chiropratic. Please tell us more so we can know about this. I have used chiropractic over the years due to an old auto accident and a current accident. But i only go as needed.
I know little about crystals. I do know that people select them by relating or connecting to them and then basically they meditate with them. It is not the crystal that has any healing power because the crystal well..it is a rock for heavens sake….There are those who claim healing by occult methods and this is yet another. i need to do some research.
i agree that most alternative medicine is infiltrated by the occult. What isn’t these days? *sigh*
Here is the link to the Reiki article

Please comment back about Network Chiropractic. You are doing a great service to the Lord.

They seem to be trying to release kundalini. Very dangerous. Here is a an article written by a “healer/bodyworker”, by the way if anyone calls themselves a “healer” beware!
http://www.kundalini-gateway.org/awaken/a_jenny.html She specifically mentions network chiropractic, reiki, tai chi and some other lovely things like guardians (spirit guides I assume.) Being on that page gives me the heebiejeebies.
I graduated from chiro school 16 years ago. In my last year there were a bunch of students who were getting in to this. They talked about the emotional releases that happened- the shaking, the hysterical laughter and I knew there was something very wrong with it. Reminds me of the Toronto stuff. I have never experienced it, I have had patients tell me that when they went to the network chiropractor that they were never touched or touched very little. The doctor put his/her hands above the patient which indicates to me it was energy work. Here is another blurb about kundalini and therapies. “These movements are called “kriyas” in the yogic tradition, the “reflex” or the “orgasm reflex” in Reichian body-based psychology, “unwinding” in Craniosacral therapy, and are said to relate to “primary process” in Primal Therapy. They are also seen in Network Chiropractic, Shiatsu, Ecstatic Dance and Holotropic Breathwork.”
http://julianwalkeryoga.zaadz.com/blog/2007/7/riding_the_kundalini_dragon_integrating_altered_states So there you go, craniosacral is all about the kundalini too. Interesting. There are many chiropractors and massage therapists who do craniosacral. Shiatsu is also a massage technique. The Reichian, primal therapy and holotropic breathwork are some times used in psychology.
Here is an article from “From the Lighthouse” regarding kundalini.
http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/blog/index.php?p=745&more=1&c=1 Got to love the title “Kundalini Energy (Serpent Power) Same as Contemplative Silence ” This is getting to be a big thing in the church! I’ll tell you having this kundalini running through my body is NOT something I desire.
I also have a probelm with applied kinesiology which is widely used in chiropractic and with clinical kinesiology. People have tried to convince me many times that AK is ok and there is still a check in my spirit about it. Here is an article from Watchman Expositor http://www.watchman.org/na/namedak.htm
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having an adjustment. All we are doing is moving bones off of nerves so the nerves can work the way they are supposed to. There is nothing wrong with a nice deep muscle massage. It is when people start adding the eastern therapies and philosophies that there is a problem.

Kim,
You wanted to know more about the astral projection stuff. The attached site, which you may have already read has a personal statement about this in one of these articles about the church he is speaking about. I take it that he was there when it happened. I am not sure which article I read it in. I was just looking up my “favorites” and re-read this and quickly looked up the site and area it is mentioned in.

Among the comments that I see here, I just find it amazing that so many christians of today want to practice these things. I know in the Old Testament is states that “Jacob meditated in the fields…”(Genesis 24:63). I know that this in the Hebrew language means to pray, yet the Psalmist, David continually speaks of meditating upon God’s Laws and Word. Christians are not to open their minds to those things of the curious arts, but to meditate and think upon the Word of God. It is not a Holy thing to practice meditation with an empty mind. That will definitely let the devil have a foothold on you. Whenever you here a “Christian” leader, pastor, or elder say “Open your mind” “have an empty mind” then they themselves are led astray by the devil which can appear as an “angel of light”. Don’t be duped into believing in those things which are occultic.

Mary
I hope this doesn’t duplicate cause I am sending it twice I think. Spam filter?
Charles I agree exactly. Meditating on the word of God is filling your mind with the things of God. Not emptying one’s mind and allowing any spirit or thought to come in.

Alex,
This is very sound advice. For instance I have been warned that while reading occult books for research, that I need to pray first for protection and that even having them in my home is a concern.
